This notice explains how IT-Assist uses personal information when you browse this website, contact us or request support. IT-Assist is based in Richards Bay and serves South Africa. Registration no: CK2024/632470/07. Contact: itassisty2k@gmail.com or 082 073 2307.

Information we use

We may receive your name, business details, contact information, enquiry, account details and support tickets, including attachments you choose to submit. Website servers process technical logs such as IP addresses, requested pages and timestamps for operation and security. Do not submit passwords, payment-card details or unnecessary sensitive information in tickets or chat.

Why we use it

We use information to respond to enquiries, provide agreed services, manage support and accounts, keep appropriate business records, protect systems and comply with legal obligations. The applicable basis may include steps requested before a contract, performing an agreement, legal duties or legitimate interests assessed against your rights. Where consent is required, we will request it.

Support guide and cookies

The automated support guide runs in your browser and does not store chat messages or submit them to an AI provider. Following a link to the ticket portal, email or WhatsApp uses that separate service. WordPress and the support portal use necessary cookies for login and session functions. We have not added advertising or visitor analytics tools to this site.

Service providers and external services

Information may be handled by service providers needed for hosting, email, support, accounting or agreed work. Email communications may use Gmail; WhatsApp links open WhatsApp. These services may process information outside South Africa under their own terms and privacy notices. Where IT-Assist transfers personal information internationally, it must use a basis permitted by POPIA. We do not sell your personal information.

Retention and security

Information is kept for as long as needed for the relevant purpose, contractual or legal obligations and legitimate disputes, then deleted or de-identified where appropriate. Access should be limited to people who need it for the service. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Report a suspected information incident using the contact above.

Your choices and rights

You may request access, correction or deletion, object to processing where applicable, or withdraw consent where processing relies on it. We may need to verify your identity and consider applicable legal retention duties. You can complain to the Information Regulator South Africa. See our POPIA information page.

Online payments

Invoice payments are handled on Yoco’s hosted payment page under the authorised merchant name Richards Bay Pet Shop. Yoco processes the payment details you enter and provides payment records needed for reconciliation. IT-Assist does not collect card details on this website. See Yoco’s own privacy and legal notices before paying.
